This makes my blood boil!

This guy has done some major damage to the reputation of GA in this country... the media is flogging the hell out of this the whole "see how easily terrorists could do this?" angle, and being drunk makes it even worse. The 14-year-old stealing a plane recently was bad enough, but this...!?
Saddest part of all is that a Prop-Lok would've prevented both episodes from happening. I don't know why I don't see more of those on light aircraft at small airports...
As for the drunk-flying laws, I know it's against FARs, but it should be a felony offense, under Federal law.
It worries me; it's as if the country's going from ignoring us to thinking we're the greatest threat ever to national security!!:(

It's a miracle they weren't all killed, considering the beer, the weather, the darkness, and his lack of experience. I can't laugh this off, though... >:(

Prop locks are a great idea, but I have noticed a number of them are the kryptonite locks of the past couple years with the circular cores that can be breached with a bic pen!

I've had a bike on a cable style lock stolen in plain sight in a crowded park . . . they cut it that fast. With most proplocks there is a U Lock member too, but the business ned is the cable, cut that and slide the U off the blade, and you're in business.
