Cross and downwind can be used to refer to landings also as in ..........
Downwind is when you land from the opposite of the normal direction (with the wind at your tail) and cross wind is when you land with the wind blowing across the runway and need to use some finesse to get down on the runway without damaging the undercarriage.....(rudder work)
