2 crashes at Falcon Field Mesa Arizona

Postby jimclarke » Wed Sep 22, 2004 1:19 pm

I work at the Boeing facility near Falcon Field.  Falcon is one of the busiest small airports in the country.  I can't find any links anywhere, but a few days ago a small experimental aircraft (type unknown) was taking off, reached about 100ft AGL where the pilot reported a problem.  The aircraft then crashed on a golf course just off the end of the runway.  The two occupants on board were killed :(

Yesterday I saw video on the news of a second incident involving what appeared to be a cessna (looked like a 182RG) make an emergency landing.  The nose gear was not extended but the pilot did a good job bringing it in.  The prop and nose took some damage but the occupants were not injured :)

Sorry to be so vague on some details but I thought I'd share this with you.
