But what "rights", Oz?  That's what I don't understand about the traveling public and aviation.  (Never have.)  Not just on this topic, but all topics.

Smoking on US flights is not banned because of company policy, it was banned by federal regulation.  (Similar to the smoking ban in bars and other public locations around the world.)

What rights is the smoker violating by smoking in a public location?  What rights to air travel does the public have?
