Something more sinister has turned up. Talking about the Cameron Highlands, the so called "Thai Silk King" Jim Thomson disappeared from his home in the Cameron Highlands in 1967. His last words as he took off on a walk towards the golf course were made to a neighbor who saluted him and said "See ya later." Now get this . . . Thomson's last words were "Alright, Goodnight" and just disappeared. They are still searching.

Is there a lawyer in the house?

http://abcnews.go.com/International/chi ... d=23053436

This is the same law firm that has started litigation proceedings with the Asiana 777 crash in San Francisco.

OK,

as a Former Nuclear Fizzists, that worked in the Alamo during the 1940's on Atomik Bumbs, I tink, I have the Answer, that caused the plane to Disappear.

a single subatomic particle !!!

A neutron produced by a cosmic ray and traveling at nearly the speed of light

A microchip in a plane's flight controller can malfunction and produce an erroneous command after being struck by a neutron. These neutrons, like ghosts, can pass through materials without being noticed. At aircraft cruising altitudes, about 2,000 of them per second penetrate each square yard of the aircraft's surface, passing through the passengers, seats, and onboard electronics and exiting on the other side. What happens when a high-energy neutron collides head-on with a silicon atom's nucleus in a transistor of the onboard electronics?

On October 7, 2008, an Airbus A330-303 operated by Qantas Airways was en route from Perth to Singapore. At 37,000 feet, one of the plane's three air data inertial reference units had a failure, causing incorrect data to be sent to the plane's flight control systems. This caused the plane to suddenly and severely pitch down, throwing unrestrained occupants to the plane's ceiling. At least 110 of the 303 passengers and 9 of the 12 crew members were injured. The injuries of 12 of the occupants were serious, and another 39 occupants required treatment at a hospital. An SEU was the only potential cause for the malfunctions not ruled out. All potential causes were found to be "unlikely," or "very unlikely," except for an SEU. However, the Australian Transport Safety Board (ATSB) found it had "insufficient evidence to estimate the likelihood" that an SEU was the cause. –ATSB Transport Safety Report Aviation Occurance Investigation AO-2008-070 Final

. . . And that's why, your honour, neither Boeing nor Malaysian Airways are responsible and should get away without paying a cent. The fault lies entirely with the Icelandic tax payer, and therefore the price of fresh cod will continue to rise for the next 20 years.

No, just a world that is obsessed what people 12,000 miles away might think of them.
3200 people world wide died in car crashes today, shall we pull all adverts for cars too.............

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Good evening. New to Forums. Have read several posts about missing airliner and I am wondering if anyone has said anything about the flight crew having a gun in the cockpit. Since 9/11 haven't they allowed U.S. pilots to carry if they want to?

Yes, they can, and high time too, IMHO.

As the son of a carreer airline pilot, and naturally the fairly close friend of several others, having a gun with frangible rounds in the cockpit is, to me merely a small safety feature, much like the descent tape above the pop-out windows, or the oxy masks hanging over their shoulders. Small, barely noticeable, yet a possible plane saver!

Again, tho, just my most humble opinion....

As far as I am aware it is only American carriers (and not all) that allow pilots to carry guns in the cockpit.....?
