Beechcraft now belongs to Textron (Cessna)...>>> http://www.flyer.co.uk/aviation-news/ne ... rtnum=1761

I wonder what Mr and Mrs Beech would make of that?

Dig into your pockets boys! If there's a Cessna or Beechcraft that you've always wanted, you had better hurry up and get it.

"Textron has confirmed that it will buy Beechcraft for $1.4b. Textron will be buying the King Air line, the Texan II, the Bonanza and Barons and presumably any work that's been done on the single engine turboprop that Beechcraft has been talking about.
It will also acquire the type certificates for Beech jets."

"From our customers’ perspective, this creates a broader selection of aircraft and a larger service footprint..."

They're going to have to cut costs to make this justifiable. If there are 2 planes that are similar, they'll probably stop production on the one that sells less.

No need for all the warehouses and employees. Cut & consolidate, that's the key!

Don't worry, neither Cessna nor Beechcraft have made an airplane that I've wanted for years.
