GPS has been ATTACKED / Attacker !!

Postby Jetranger » Mon Jul 29, 2013 9:27 pm

OK ~ I may NOT know Jack Diddly Squat about GPS, and I'm not going to claim I do, but this kinda, a lot, worries me !!!!

If they can do this with a Yacht out in the middle of the ocean from thousands of miles away, I assume in Texas somewhere,, where I believe the "Experiment" was performed, than would it be possible to do it with Jetliners ???

Listen to the Video very very carefully - it states " NO WARNINGS or Bells went off" to Alert the Captain at the helm of the Yacht.

This was done in a kinda "Stealth" mode.

I can only imagine if this were in the wrong hands by some Malicious Clown or Terroist, and hypothetically , say attempted to steer several Jetliners off Course all at once, with them only having enough Fuel to make their trip to the destination, what would happen !!

Disaster !

Yeah, I read this a couple of days ago.

GPS flaw could let terrorists hijack ships, planes

The world’s GPS system is vulnerable to hackers or terrorists who could use it to hijack ships -- even commercial airliners, according to a frightening new study that exposes a huge potential hole in national security.

Using a laptop, a small antenna and an electronic GPS “spoofer” built for $3,000, GPS expert Todd Humphreys and his team at the University of Texas took control of the sophisticated navigation system aboard an $80 million, 210-foot super-yacht in the Mediterranean Sea.

“We injected our spoofing signals into its GPS antennas and we’re basically able to control its navigation system with our spoofing signals,” Humphreys told Fox News ...
