What is really, really disappointing is that in this current celebrity obsessed age, where some say we are struggling to encourage people into "proper" careers, the most these articles devoted to the UK was that tremendously dull and boring fact that the engines and wings were made here, just as for any other boring Airbus.

None of the mainstream press have paid the slightest bit of attention to the fact the man in charge of the first flight, Airbus' current head of flight ops (chief test pilot in old language), is an ex RAF Brit, Peter Chandler.
