2012 F1 unveils

Postby expat » Tue Feb 07, 2012 10:34 am

Is it me or are all the teams vying for the butt ugly car award this year. It seems that only McLaren are not taking a hatchet to the front of the car this year....

Lotus

Red Bull

Williams

Team Red

That's better..... :)

Woah...  :o >:( Those new cars are so ugly! Like you said, only the McLaren looks good. Those new noses are just terrible.

Rules is rules, and generally the very clever aerodynamiscists come up with almost the same answer.

Anyway, if you think cars look the same (other than the early Toro Rossos, which were effectively the same basic chassis as the Red Bull of the time as a customer team), take a look at 1995's Benneton B195 and the 1995 Ligier JS41. Me thinks they were sharing aerodynamic data! Ditto for the Ferrari F2004 and the (Ferrari engined, amazingly) Sauber C23! ;D

The Ferrari looks like something my little brother would make out of Lego.....

I just hope it's as structurally sound as a Lego car and a part flies off and removes Mr Ecclestone from his Ferrari sponsored thrown so we can get on with racing without the little goblin and his stewards inquiries.

I'm sticking to the phrase 'A good looking car is normally a fast car' and hoping Mclaren dominate the whole season it's about time the drivers and constructors championship trophies was back in Woking where they belong.

This annoyed me at first but then I remembered Sky haven't got Jake Humphrey, he always seemed so out of place. I'm just hoping I get the F1 channel, I have the HD pack so I think I will get it.

As Clarkson would've said... "It looks like it was designed by a ruler"  ;D

Ugly cars, but at least I won't have the subscription package in place to be able to see them for most of the time!

My thoughts exactly. Not that most of the others are that far away. :-/

All in all, as already stated, rules are rules, and aerodynamics are more important than looking good, when your main target is try to win. :P
There is no such a thing as overkill. Only unworthy targets.
