Diddy is in the habit of distributing cars to 16 year old boys.
Justin Combs, birthday in January, got a Maybach 57S (price maybe US$ 350 000), and Justin Bieber, birthday March, got in this month a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder that had been US$ 200 000 when new.
What cars would you give or get for 16th birthday?
Also the price range of these cars also fits the price range of new built single engine piston planes like Cessna 172. Is it practical to make a minor aged 15 a natural person Part 91 operator ahead of first solo on a student pilot licence on 16th birthday?

When I became 16 I got a secondhand (or third or fourth)
Puch moped. Rode it like a maniac at 45 km/h all the time.
Kids who get very expensive cars for their 16th (!) birthday are spoiled brats and their parents are utter morons. Who in a right state of mind gives a kid (which you are at 16) a car that's fast enough to kill you or someone else in 1 second?

But Diddy is not parent of Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber also got as 16th birthday gift a new Range Rover - it was from his agent. His parents thus had no say about either car....

You might be right. I don't know what his parents gave to this Justin Bieber (who ever he is), so I can't judge about that.

The minimum age for driving a car in the UK is 17 so that doesn't apply.

I wish I had a Lambo when I was 16...
...I would have parked it up, waited until I was 17, passed my test, waited many years, then driven it.
Why not straight away? Well, the insurance would be unpayable (if existant for someone my age) and I wouldn't want to scratch it.

Simple, Nobody under the age of 28 should be allowed to drive any form of high performance vehicle.
With the exception of those who are classed as top level racing drivers.

I got a handed down Ford Bronco when I was sixteen, drive a 350Z now (19). Never gotten a speeding ticket, never been in a wreck (aside from being rear ended once in the Bronco. Just about totaled his car, bent the bumper on mine). Knock on wood!

A first car should be something big, as it is much safer than those tiny toy cars every teen seems to get these days.

Like, Maybach 62 and not Maybach 57S?

Saab 9-3 or a Saab 9000
Basically something that you can mend yourself for the minor stuff, and strong enough to keep you alive in accidents
