Michelin return aiming for "street cred"

I was recently reading an article about Michelin looking to return to F1 on their terms. One of the statements they made was. "we want to see F1 adopt 18" wheels because they will appeal to the younger generation.
While I must admit I am impressed with the performance the teams get out of 13" rims, they do look a little bulky. but at the same time I dont think after the 2005 debacle Michelin should think they are in a position to dictate a possible return.

Great, but what about all the redesigning that will be required of the cars. You can go and put 18" boots on your car, but on an F1 thoroughbred that is easier said than done.

Now lets be fair Matt.
We need at least one stupidly pointless, expensive and detrimental winter change every season.

For those intrested, there is a picture of an F1 car with the proposed new tyres in this weeks autosport. Looks rather odd.

I'm young...
...I disagree.
Maybe they're just talking about chavs, but most of them don't watch F1 anyway. That's not the sort of car they want to watch racing
