F1 25 points for a win

Looks like we will have a new points system nest season. Can't see the point myself other than a chance for everyone to walk away with a point. Nice and PC though.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

About time too.. MotoGP, World Superbikes and BTCC have had this sytem for years....

Although the percentages are still the same, 2nd gets 80% of the winners points, 3rd 60%. No doubt at the end of 2010 the champion will be the same as if it was the old 10,8,6 system...

I'm not fussed what they do as long as they get rid of that stupid rule about only getting half points if the race doesn't get past a certain distance.

Not really made for a close fight at the top, as the article says, the top three places are the same points ratio. The big difference will the fight for the lower end of the table. :)

I like it in some ways. It still doesn't punish consistency, but at the same time, it will stop a driver being happy to settle with a low points finish. Too many and they will soon be a long way back.
As the autosport site showed, the last few championships would have remained the same under the new points. I think it was eddie irvine in 99 that would have been the first to benefit from it.
