What does Jenson do?

Simple question really.
Jenson is ready to start his contract talks with Brawn Gp. Now if you were in his place what do you do?
Its become clear the Brawn car has dropped off from the start of the season. They do not have the time and money backing that they had last year from Honda. So why would Jenson as a world champion not want to look elsewhere?
Ferrari and Mclaren have been by the numbers the two highest scoring cars in the 2nd half of the season, Mclaren started from scratch and built their new car with the plan to develop for next year. Ferrari gave up on this years car a while back and started again for next year, so you have to believe those two teams will be strong again.
Jenson might want to keep his eye on the second seat at Mclaren, Kimi is still no where near being signed up and I'm sure Mclaren would love an all british line up made up of the previous two champions, plus they keep the 1 on their car.
There is also Toyota, Renault and possibly a red bull seat, (webber is apparently not safe if a big name were to become an option) All those teams have shown they are capable of fighting at the front.
Brawn needs to hope he has a big cheque book or a generous sponsor, or else he's going to be left with Nico Rosberg and an empty second seat, in a car that wont start next season with a 2 second a lap advantage.

Jenson has already made it clear that he want's to stay at Brawn. The problem is Brawn haven't made it clear they want him. Considering that Jenson has paid for most of his own flights this season it looks like Brawn probably can't afford him now he can command a premium salary.

Having said that, with Jenson on board Brawn should be able to attract major sponsors, keep Barichello in the mix and you have  1 and 2 on the cars which makes them even more attractive.

Not so may years ago, the only people who got flight tickets paid for was the "team". Drivers always paid their own travel costs, after all they are paid many times the collective wages of the an entire F1 team (I say team loosely, drivers come and go, a team stays for the long run).

Could be an interesting move for Mercedes, perhaps ensuring a better deal for Brawn, and reducing the damage recently done in their partnership with McLaren by giving them a chance to sign JB - a very rare opportunity to have the two most recent champions in one team.

Of course then Merc place their driver (Rosberg) as number 1 in with what may be the better team next year.

Brawn wont be the better team. Mclaren passed them a while back and I dont see Brawn having the money to keep up with them. This is why Jenson wants the money now.

I agree entirely. Much as it'd be nice to see him stay at Brawn, I don't think he could be blamed for looking elsewhere. :)

It would be the dream team for me, being a bit patriotic and all... Two British drivers in a British team.

All they need is a British engine...

OK, scrap that last one  ;D

Well, the Mercedes F1 engine is essentially British in all but name, seeing as Mercedes High Performance Engines are based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, and of course used to be better known as Ilmor. :)

Get a story seriously linking you with a major rival team in all the major press, then ask the relevant people in your current team if they'd like to sit down and have a chat... :)
