So Alonso is off to Ferrari if the worst best kept secret is to be believed. So how many races next year before he starts to complain that Massa is the favourite and gets all the best cars, parts, backing and team love and he only gets the cast offs for upgrades ;D

Well Ferrari know what they're getting. Having said that, keeping Raikonnen may have worked better with Fernando - purely as he wouldn't give a monkey's, and yet might occasionally win a race. Massa might give Fernando a bit too much competition from within.

I'm sure Alonso would have preferred Badoer myself! ;D

Dont like it. Dont want him.
Much Prefer the Kimi Massa pairing. Kimi keeps his mouth shut and just gets on with it, and Massa has the passionate side that the italians love, and oh yeah, they are both astonishingly quick.
I think Fisi is showing just how good of a job both Massa and Kimi have done in what is proving to be a dog of a car for anyone else to drive.
Another thing to be taken into account is driving style. Since Schumi's days the Ferrari's have been designed to a specific driving style. It requires a smooth turn in, and smooth progressive application of the throttle.
Alonso has a very aggressive throw the car into the corner and on the power as quick as possible.
What happens when alonso has to change his style? Or what happens if they have decided to design it round Freds, and Massa has to change?
Simple fact is, once again Luca Di-montezemelo has a hard on for a driver and refuses to see the fact his line up is fine as it is.

Which is why he'll do well at McLaren next season... and why Lewis will have to up his game (on and off track) just to keep up.

Kimi for World Champ 2010? Don't bet against it.

The Irony is, he actually left Mclaren because they weren't an  ideal fit, his party lifestyle long hair ways didn't fit rons cleancut image. See Fernando's beard in 2007 when he was upset as a way to piss him off haha.
Hopefully Mclarens new leadership will allow Kimi the same freedom Ferrari have.
Lewis will have to get used to having a team mate that will not only be quick as if not quicker than him on a regular basis, but also will have little to no interest in being his best buddie off the track.
I have no problem admitting I didn't like Kimi coming into Ferrari, but he certainly earned my respect his time there.

But on the flip side, probably won't do and Alonso and actively try to derail his team mate a la Hungary 07 qualifying.

Maybe the answer to all the team mate rivalry, the cost question, the same faces at the front and the same old teams is the following.

One car per team. Cost comes down, no in flighting and 13 more teams on the grid??
