I often wonder why people spend a lot of money on those old wretched things when they could be out buying a really nice new car (or a many dozen Ducs and Suzukis)

Good one on the person who sold it - A load of cash for something I think is a bit silly to want to own.

This is a very rare car, hence the big price tag. Some people buy vintage cars as an investment. You start losing money on the average new car as soon as you drive it out of the showroom.

Hagar, I think if the new owner starts driving this Bugatti he will lose money too. These cars are only worth so much if kept in very good conditions. Which means you have to keep in indoors....

Some collectors do just that. Of course he could be an enthusiast in which case he will want to drive it.

Now, which category does this chap fall into? ;) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-473216/F1-boss-Eccleston-auction-fabulous-car-collection-Ford-Anglia.html
