Just being a boring so and so, reading the Donington Park planning meeting report to be presented tomorrow.
Anyway this cropped up:

18 letters of representation (including one from a Castle Donington Ward Member) have been received in respect of application 08/01356/FULM (of which 13 also make representations in respect of application 08/01386/FULM) raising the following concerns:

- Noise and pollution from helicopters
- Adverse impact on aviation safety
- Motor racing is anachronistic, excessively noisy, environmentally irresponsible, brings limited economic wealth to the immediate environs and has limited visitor appeal
- Environmental pollution, including toxic waste residues from high-octane fuel exhaust gases
- Harm to wildlife / habitat

It is therefore recommended that planning permission be granted in respect of both applications subject to the applicants entering into a Section 106 agreement to secure (i) the submission and implementation of Event Management Plans regarding access to the site for major motor racing events using the new proposed new pit and paddock facilities, (ii) the non-completion of the previously-approved club house scheme(s), (iii) the routeing of construction traffic and (iv) control over the use of the proposed club house.
