Getting excited about A/LMS

Has anyone been keeping an eye on the ACO spec series's?  All I can say is that I've never been more excited about auto racing since I first became interested 7years ago.  Heres why:

-First hybrids coming out
-Unified GT series in 2010 (corvette vs porche vs ferrari!)
-ALMS "Green Challenge" at Petit and the '09 season
-Growing LMP1 class with Acura
-Incredible LMP2 class in the states

If I were an auto manufacture looking for research into alternative power sources for cars, I would be going crazy!  This has potential to be a much better proving ground than any other series out there.  Best part is that the racing is real, not the product of cheap rule changes.  LeMans this year was awsome, so was the previous 2 Sebring races, and plenty of the other tracks here in the states! 8-)

I watch when I remember they're on. It's one of the few series I care to watch any more because of the variety.
In contrast, to me the Rolex series is a joke.

Milk and doughnuts? Your kidding!  ;D ;D :D Milk and cookies would be more fitting judging by the way some of the competition behaves. ;)

"Le Mans"/Sports car racing has always been far more beneficial to motoring than the formula types, certainly in the early 90s. Now with Audi and Peugeot doing so well with diesels, people are less afraid to try new technologies without be scared of being completely uncompetitive. What would be nice is if we could have another two or three big manufacturers develop LMP1/competitive LMP2 (as Porsche have) to make it a bit more of a competition, rather than just an Audi/Peugeot shootout (thinking back to the group C days, with Jaguar, Mercedes. many Porsches, Nissan, Toyota, Mazda etc)

Oh yes that was a great time. I also remeber the IMSA/Camel GT series in the 1980s. I can still remember when Jaguar debuted the GTP XJR-9. What a strange looking car, I thought.
I really do miss that series, especially when they had names the likes of Hobbs and Bell to name only a couple.
I have models of the Taka-Q Toyota 88C & C-V and a Protar metal kit of the Rothmans/Porsche 956. Those cars from that era were just pure sexy. ;)

so no one is a fan of the Sauber Mercedes C9?  I think it looks better than the Jag, and even set the Le Mans speed trap record at 253mph, I believe
