The talks of him joining Honda have quietend down, rumors of a BMW contract, but nothing more,  could it be a case of, doors are closing on a man who is known to demand a huge amount?
This would be the ideal transition if he hopes to go to Ferrari I guess. Ferrari engine, Italian teams with good relations, and I think STR would be willing to give him a short contract to give one of theur development drivers time to mature with no one ready to step up yet.
