Limousine vs. van

What makes a luxury limousine so special compared to a humble van which is likewise bigger than an ordinary sedan?

What makes the limousine so expensive to produce for the builder? And what makes it so valuable for the buyer?

Limousines generally start out life as a normal luxury car and are turned into limos by a custom coach shop. It's also the luxury accrutements that affect the final price.
If you were a CEO of a large corporation would you want to be seen pulling up in a van? ::)

Limos have awsome in their seams  ;D

They are your typical celebrity or people of high position vehicle of choice. Would you prefer being driven around by Jeoffrey or have Radio 1 on in your Transit?

Limos just have that thing about them. They are wanted and respected. Looks like a good opening to sell them for a high price to important people and make some nice dosh.

I'll take a van over a limo anytime. Why? Simple. My Volkswagen Crafter can seat 5 people comfortably, has airco, electric windows, cd mp3 player, satnav, mobile phone and internet connection, enough legroom to dance dirty in it and it can stack more crates of beer than you can drink in a month. Now find me a limo that can do the same.....

Crash ;)

But if you can't afford an attack helicoptor, a 20-ton (or even a humvee) up armoured Army/Marine vehicle with a mounted M2 .50 cal machine gun on top isn't too shabby either.... ;D
