Andretti not as bad as he appeared?

An interesting point of view of Michael Andretti's short and rather unimpressive F1 run.
If true, especially the point of Senna letting him drive his car for Monza, then I not only have more respect for Senna's personality, the man was willing to drive a car he suspected as being both sabotaged and also unsafe to help a team mate out, against his own team. But it also further prooves my dislike for Mclaren.
It also brings up so many what if's. Was this partly why Senna chose to leave and drive for Williams. If so where would F1 be now had that not been the case and Ron had let them compete properly? Maybe Andretti would have been much better, and he might have gone to Williams to give Hakkinen the seat, maybe Mikka may not of even got the drive so soon and those two world titles might have gone to someone else like Senna.
Seems to sort of perhaps ring bells of last year :-X
Ron it would appear doesn't like his star driver being pushed to the limits?
There was always something to be said of Ferrari and their choice of team mates for Schumi, but the reality was during his career, with the exception of Mikka there wasn't anyone on the grid who could have driven with and beat him consistantly.
Mclaren perhaps should take the lesson and just shove someone in the second seat who really isn't that good but will score points when you need them too. I think personally Heikki will really turn it up a notch over the next few races and really cause Lewis some problems. Guess he better watch out for loose wheel nuts. :-X

LOL ive just been digesting all this over on autosport, and its certainly a little odd. I remember watching the season, and ive got the '93 season review on VHS (whats that you all may say!!!!) Its interesting to watch it now, if only to realise how bad Prost probably was getting thumped by Senna in a totaly inferior car on occasion. If only that season had been Prost v Mansell.......

Andretti wouldnt commit to staying in europe would he? As to wether the car was sabotaged, i cant believe that. Surely not?

However, the Andretti to Mclaren thing all fitted in nicely with Mansell going to the Newman Haas Lola team over in the PPG, which was andrettis seat - but if Mclaren never wanted him, why employ him? why then make his season a nightmare to get rid of him?

Sour grapes indeed if you ask me.  Senna didnt need any help to keep him in front of any team mates, (although he got it at lotus basically choosing his own team mate).

But if you wont commit to moving over here or near the factory, hardly test, what did he expect? Mansell had huge running in the lola pre season - did Andretti in the McLaren?
