According to a Dutch online newspaper today, Volkswagen is asking owners of a VW Golf I (build year 1974) to return the car to a dealership. There seems to be problems with the lockmechanism of the glove compartement.

Well, I saw the advert of the Dutch VW importer who asked customers to come with their 1974 Golf I to their local dealer to have it fixed. In return they also get a free overhaul.

Nope... but for the few MK1s in europe its simply funnny... but they still make new MK1s in South Africa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Citi) Which probably have the same glovebox system
