Any one have or had one of these? I've got an '85, with a billion or so miles on it.(not sure how many actual miles are on it, because the odo has been broken for 11 years, but it had 116,000 miles when it quit!)

My question is this. I drove it to the local electronics store to pick a pc that was being serviced. It ran like a champ like always all the way there. But when I went to leave, it wouldn't start. I traced the problem to the fuel pump not being activated.

Ebay would be the best bet... Search for Audi 80 and Audi 90.

Explanation:
Audi 4000 = Audi 80/90 for USA market
Audi 90 = Audi 80 luxury version, For USA the 4000 is either a euo marktet 80 or a 90
So most 80b2 and 90b2 parts should fit in it.

Still got the original rear window in it (with the text?)

Yup! But I guess the propper question I should have asked was, how can I find out what part to change?

Blame the guy who put in the wrong part...

I assume you can get the thing out of the car... put a bunch of hoses on it and try to pump around a tank of fuel... if it works, it aint the fuelpump that is broken

Else... if you know the wires that are switched by the engine management, measure if there's a current running between mass and the switched wire
