One win in gp2, I what I believe was the feature race where he started near or at the front, and suddenly he's the next Lewis Hamilton. Me thinks he might want to say sorry for his comments about Spyker, Torro Rosso and Super Aguri. Spyker because they have a rather large backing from a new boss and plus they run the Ferrari engine. Torro Rosso because they picked it up big time towards the end of the season. And Super Aguri have jumped into the midfield and are always within a chance of some points. Plus with Honda backing, you dont want to upset them either.
Maybe if he finishes higher than 13th next season, Torro Rosso might give him a serious look. ::)

Recent World Champions and their first drives:

Michael Schumacher : Jordan
Kimi Raikkonen : Sauber
Fernando Alonso : Minardi

Start at the lower end and get noticed (if you're good enough that is, Vitaly Petrov  ::))

Take it back further with Hakkinen, Villeneuve and Hill, and only JV started with a "top" team (albeit Hill's Brabham career was rather short before he went to Williams - but he had done his time, and more, in the lower tiers)...
