Also on the site we have Stepney claiming he had Mclaren data and told people at Ferrari, however unlike the Ferrari data, theres no evidence what so ever. Do I believe him? maybe, I just find it a slight bit amazing that not one shred of proof is avaliable after so much evidence being there for Mclaren. Disgruntled employee perhaps, we shall see how this plays out.

the hamilton video. Not really sure how this one is justified as evidence, hopefully the only thing that happens is vettels grid penalty is waived.

I have watched that clip a dozen times and I cannot see what the fuss is about. Vettel seems to drive quite (in a manner of speaking) sedately and squarely into the back of Webber, almost as if he was not paying attention, which Webber also seems not to be doing by almost overtaking. It was a safety car lap and they where taking a short break and got it wrong. There is nothing to say that the driver behind the safety car has to take the same line as the safety car. Also in that sort of weather, keeping your brakes (as far as possible) dry and warm would be the number one on the list of things to do, secondly, paying attention to what the car in front is doing. However, why has this come up four days after the fact. Any penalty that comes of this will be interesting, but I think that a down to the wire Ferrari win would be a better ending for the FIA this season.

As for Stepney, rather than trumpet it all up for a good sales run on his new book, put the evidence on the table

it took me a while before I pieced together what the complaint was and how it tied in with the video. I still think its a bit stretched though.
But the rules state a driver must remain within 5 car lengths of the safety car, and that it must follow where possible a safe and consistent path. In this case Lewis decided to run out wide at a tight and blind corner, in the rain and then hit the brakes, thus ending more than 5 car lengths from the pace car, and off what could be considered a consistent line.
I said from the start and I'll say it again, Mark Webber is the first person blame should be pointed at. He wasn't paying attention, the fact he shot by lewis and then also chose to brake suddenly at the same blind corner shows that. He cant claim he was just letting Lewis repass because the rules allow for these things and say the lead driver can repass where safe to do so.
Vettel has his part, but I would say its more inexperience in very tough conditions, he could and should have been in the middle of the track, he states he saw lewis messing around and braking hard, so common sense would suggest the guy behind him would also have to do the same. With there being a big gap, thats what I would aim to be driving for. They should all be slapped on the wrist, Lewis told not to prat around like he did at several places, Mark told not to cry and blame everyone else every time you screw up. And Sebastian should be told, if he's going to cry, at least do it out of the view of the cameras.

It wasn't the first time Lewis has been a bit erratic behind the safety car. At the Canadian GP he very nearly took the back off the safety car at the restart, just missing it as it pulled into the pitlane.

Well, if they didn't like it they should have backed off. Someone can drive erratically on public roads, but as the person behind it's your job not to hit them, and if you do, it's your fault.

Are we beginning to see a little jealousy from some of the more established drivers (the nearly men - Webber, Button etc) who've "never" had the chance to have the success that Lewis has had?

well said Craig.  Ive calmed down and yes , webber f___ed up.   Lewis was entitled to be erratic , its called warming brakes.  SV was also entitled to be inexperienced.  Webber was not entitled to f-up his best chance yet of bagging a win.  

man the air went out of me like a popped ballon when that happened , i had been so excited of what could be........aagggghhhhhh! !!!!!!!

hey, Bathurst is on this weekend !  woohooo.  can i post some pics in here for you guys ?   small ones ?    I will still be changing the channel to watch F1 though , I have not missed an F1 race since Monaco 1990 when I started this obsession.

Now that's a good race! I remember watching it on TV when I went to Perth a few years back. Do they still interview the drivers while they're racing? That was excellent, drivers slagging each other off in pure blunt Aussie style yet at the same time taking corners at 100+mph.  ;D

not just webber mate. I just think he takes a 3rd of the blame.
As for Lewis, he's shouldn't have been driving erratically in those conditions. Warming his brakes wasn't that important to be honest, that only becomes an issue on the in lap of the safety car and an F1 car could warm its brakes up on that lap alone. in the dry, fair enough, but when the guys behind you are unable to see properly, its the responsibility of all involved to make sure nothing happens. I dont like the public road analogy, any idiot these days can drive, that means people on the roads with poor reactions and poor understanding of how to handle a car, the guys in these F1 cars are highly experienced in all forms of car control and all should have reaction times close to that of a fighter pilot if not faster in some cases. Slow speed accidents should be avoidable.

yeah this is true , they do interviews with the drivers during the race , though I imagine there is the 30 second delay to edit in case an expletive slips out !

True.. I'd love to listen in on the radio transmissions from a few of the drivers though, especially DC, he always seems to have something to say  :-X
And Trulli has turned the air blue once or twice live on TV.
I bet Jenson's transmissions are boring as you like though....

gotta admit the few RT's from Button that are shown, always involve him sounding bored and fed-up, while complaining the car isn't working right.
Massa is a driver I'd like to hear from.
One driver I do wish they had more from was M schumacher, so many times you hear about how he would be talking calmly to brawn while racing flat out. I'd like to see how true that is.

I've watched that VT over and over again ...... all Hamilton was doing was taking the safest line behind the safety car he could see the road ahead, rather than spray, and wasn't going to run into the back of it round the slow corners. I distinctly remember him taking a different line round almost every corner on the track when following the safety car. Webber and Vittel had their own accident on the racing line.
