2008 Driver Line Ups...

Postby C » Thu Jul 19, 2007 5:44 pm

Well, Honda have announced Jenson and Rubens again for next year.

Good on them - of Honda's last 5 World Champions (albeit with Williams and McLaren), only Senna was under 30 (he was 28 when he won his first in 1988, and went on to win in 1990 (30) and 1991(31)). Piquet was 35 and Prost 34. :) Oodles of time for JB yet...

glad Rubens is still around I think he's a talented driver, but more importantly he comes across as a really nice guy.
The only other confirmed line-up is redbull with Coulthard and webber sticking around.

Not even the drivers at Ferrari and Mclaren are confirmed. Still rumors that those inside ferrari are not happy with kimi, and Felipe is on a one year deal, with Schumi still umming and arring about his future who knows.
And Alonso and Mclaren seem to be destined for a short term relationship.

As a thought though, Honda will never be serious contenders till they get out of the management by committie thought process, same goes for toyota.

I could see that, partnering sebastian bourdais.
Question is, whos getting the two new seats at Pro-drive?

If they appear... Paffett/De La Rosa would seem the obvious choice without taking on a new boy, assuming they are McLaren "customers"

...and didn't Colin McRae do an F1 test once*... ;) ;D
