Well I think my car has kicked the bucket. Or on its way. Driving home I was breaking and as I went to apply some gas the engine just started shaking really badly and lost all power. While at standstill and idle it just really starts shaking like an earth quake. Last time this happend the whole thing went bang. sad thing is I love this car but still have a year left on payments :'(

Rather than panic I suggest checking the ignition system. Dead spark plug? Dirt in the distributor cap? Engine timing out? Knackered HT lead? All of these can give those effects along with polluted fuel ;)

it's currently in the garage getting checked out. It'll be tomorrow before I find out. Depending on what the costs for repair are compaired to costs of the loan, I will base my desicion on that.

Well the news is good for once. You got it on the spark plug Mark. He's changed them all to be safe as water got in there when I recently cleaned it. ::)

Ozzys handy tip of the day for waterproofing electrics on a car. Get some silicon bath sealant and put it round any electrical connections except where the HT leads go onto the plugs in the cylinder head (it melts and smells horrible) ;)
I did this on the TR8 I used to rally and we amazingly didn't have anymore cut-out problems after going through big puddles ;D ;D ;D ;D

I use dielectric grease meeself-nuclear certified too; also prevents the spark plug wire boots from sticking.  ;)
