i read somewhere he was touching 100mph in the 40 zone...in which case he is an idiot, and i cant see his insurance company paying out either if thats true.

Neat Fact:
If a McLaren F1 passes a perfectly still Bugatti Veyron going 170 Mph(not sure what that is in kph), the Bugatti can catch it and come to a complete stop in 13 or 14 seconds(can't remember which, but either way that's freakin' fast).

That goes for any car, but what is the definition of an inexperienced driver? The owner is 67 years old and his son who was driving it is in his 40's.
Assuming that they past their test before they where 20, that gives over 20 years of driving "experience", but in a country where you can only drive at 70 mph. I drive to work in excess of 100 mph, no limit here, does that make me more experienced to drive a Veyron?, no it does not. Maturity and knowing when and how much to use the peddle on the right is what it is all about. It is no different from a hot hatch to a Zonda. The only reason this made the news is because it is the fasted production car in a straight line.

Agreed. This is the kind of person the goverment ought to take, and then make them drive no more than a Chevrolet Matiz...

What I don't understand is the fact that there are still people who buy these cars. You can't do $h!t with it. Only drive fast. Which is only allowed in some parts of Germany (not for long anymore). There is not even enough room in it to do the groceries on a Saturdaymorning. Why spend a million Euro on something you can't use? For a tenth of that money you can buy a very luxurious car that you can actually use for something. Or buy a nice house for half a million and give the rest to me.......

What I don't understand is the fact that there are still people who buy these cars.

It's quite simple. They are usually very rich people who can afford it. I know a wealthy man who collects super sports cars like I used to collect Dinky toys. He works very hard for what he has & they give him a great deal of pleasure. He has been trained to drive them properly on a local racing circuit & drives to events all over Europe when he has the time. He is extremely generous & also employs a lot of people who would otherwise be out of work so good luck to him.

Most of the autobahn system is limit free and as for how long, well it will not be happening for sometime yet, mainly because the government will loose way too much tax.
