What kind of land speed record is 300.3 mph?  Top Fuel Dragsters go faster than that.

Even more, I thought the land speed record was set when that guy broke the sound barrier.

Sad to hear he was injured.

Each country has it own land speed record. The highest speed recorded in the UK is 300.3 mph over a measured mile. Top fuel dragsters are over 1/4 mile and if they tried to do another 1/4 mile without an engine stripdown, they would go bang in a very big fashion.

it wasnt a top fuel dragster anyhow, it was a jet powered dragster.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to Richard and his Family. get well soon mate, and get back on top gear ;)
