Well I finally decided to buy a car. After a fixing a problem with the brakes (I knew this before buying the car but it was a cheap car so not a problem) Its now pretty much perfect. Its a 1996 Vauxhall Vectra GLS 2.0L engine. Only a temporary car till I can afford the BMW I want. This I have been told will sell for about

Nice car. Does it have a good stereo in it?

Just noticed the white little car in the background. Why is it halfway parked on the sidewalk? lol
I don't see any other vehicles in the photo parked that way...

Hi Andrew, Thanks.
Yes the stereo is quite good which is surprising considering its a vauxhall. I live in a cul. de sac and the road is quite narrow. so some people have to park up on the path to let others get past. There are a couple of others like it further to the left out of shot.  Mine will most likely be that way too as it's currently parked in my moms space:)

Looks nice .......... but will handle like a sack of spuds  :-[ :-[
Great as a first car ...... but I hope it has ABS as you'll find that they don't like stopping otherwise.
I drove the Vectra when it first came out. I was driving for Europcar at the time so had a chance to compare it with others from the same catagory. Vectra with ABS..... sack of spuds but you could get out of trouble... Without the ABS ...... you were in trouble. We actually prefered the Hyundi Lantra or the Alpha Romeo 145 over the Vectra, the other car in the same group was the Toyota Carina (but we don't talk about them).

I hope you have many happy hours of motoring with it ... as you can see it wouldn't be my choice but as I said as a first motor not too bad.

Hi eno. Yes it has ABS.:) After a few miles of driving, I wont argue the fact that its no aston martin. It'll do though. ;)

Cool car. Not something we see here in the states so its always nice to see something in the oversea market.

And for being used it looks new to me (dont know what a new Vauxhal looks like compared to a used one lol)

Easy to answer this for you Stephen, imagine a Pinto when it is only the odd bit of paint holding all the rust together ;) ;D
Nice first motor Craig, I started out with a Mk III Escort 1.3L many many years ago :)

The Mk I/II were RWD, the III onwards were FWD and looked v.different from the classic shape. The first XR3i/RS Turbos were MkIIIs ;)

My first car was an Escort also. It's a shame it was totaled...

Ahh fond memories of two cars that I once owned, both got stolen!  ::)

Nice (ish) motor Craig, now you have wheels, you can really take the time to pick the right BMW.

thanks Paul. That was my intention because right now I cant really afford a good one, but I needed a car. So this gives me a chace to now save for a decent one rather than risk a total lemon.

Absolutely the correct way to buy something like a BMW, of which, a "Lemon" variant you certainly don't want.  ;)

Any questions, give me a nod. ;)
