Not too sure about the technical merits of this one. Thrust SSC was a vehicle designed purely for the purpose (with millions of cash spent)... :o

I don't think they fully comprehend what they've got to beat. Thrust SSC was designed to go that fast on the ground. That was designed to go that fast at altitude. We shall see though I suppose.

It'll never look as cool as this though...
