I think his anonimity is part of the whole thing. Apparently he revealed who he was in the 2003 series, then he drove a jaguar off an aircraft carrier. So I've no idea. ;D

They have stated he is an ex racing driver. I am thinking Johnny Herbert, same body size and height, and hes a great driver, who i believe is a good friend of Clarkson.
All in good fun though trying to figure it out.:)
Speaking of which, does anyone know when the new series starts? I am getting a little bored of the "best of" episodes. Anyone wanna bet on the fact that James May or whatever his name is wont be there? ok hes better than the old fat guy they had but he still isnt really suited to the show.

They've got to finish making the new series first guys. And as for James May staying, I reckon he will. He's been there two series and he's way better than all of those on Fifth Gear. ;D

The original Stig was a former F1 driver - Perry McCarthy, who drove for one season for Andrea Moda in 1992...
