A fantastic story with lots of fantastic illustrations, Buzz!.... ...!

Talking about stolen bikes....never to be seen again... :( ....

...my 2-wheeled piece of joy...before it got stolen from my front garden >>>>

1992 Honda CBR 600FM Supersport:

Now riding a 1994 Honda CB 500RR twin, Yamaha RXS 100, and a baby FS1M....

A Harley 1200 Sportster is far too expensive, so a Yammy Dragstar looks good to add to the list, and still get that lovely Vee-Twin sound!
(The last "Vee-Twin" I had, was my 1948 Vincent HRD Series B/C 1000cc Rapide).

65 years of Bikin'!.... 8-) ...!

Paul.....Off for a ride round the Herefordshire countryside in a minute, whilst the sun is shining!.... :D ...!

Fozzer,

We essentially had the same bike! Looks like it was just as popular with thieves on the other side of the pond.
My only regret with that bike was the white wheels - what a pain trying to keep them clean, especially the rear one after shooting the chain with some lube!

Now, that Vincent!

Image

What a sexy bike!

Have fun on your ride!

A picture of my machine parked dead on the Southern California's San Andreas Fault in the Carizzo Plain National Monument last year.

Image

If an earthquake happened there then, it would have ripped the bike right in half! Of course, then I'd have needed a lift home...
Great trip, and I recommend anybody in California go see it, at least for a day. Awesome part of the state, appearing barren, and yet so close to the LA basin. I was watching heavies on decent into presumably LAX the whole time I was there. A little place called Soda Lake is in here, and likewise looking desolate, there is a solar farm there. Even a factory or two, perhaps a refinery, since the east side of the Temblor Range is heavily laden with oil pumping equipment.
I rode into Taft, CA and then made a loop through the Monument. Almost completely comprised of unpaved/unimproved clay/dirt roads, the "washboard effect" that happens to this type of driving surface made riding out there quite challenging.

BTW, Ozzy, I count at least 32 places where I would have nothing less than died. I had to stop the video after the last time I tried to squeeze my imaginary brake lever...

..A very nice Harley Davidson!...Ideal for touring!.... :D ...!

Carizzo Plain National Monument

A remote, wild, and desolate place between Bakersfield in Central Valley, and Santa Maria on the Pacific Coast!

Certainly an "Off-road" Trip!

It is the best remaining picture I have. After a reinstall of Win7, I seem to have misplaced (or formatted) all my older pictures of the entire bike. Rather than wash it to take a decent photo of her, I figure I'll just show what I got. Still ride it to work every day, rain or shine. The quick docking winscreen is a must for the former, and since it's QD, removable for the latter.
Been riding it for 5 years. I bought it in February 2009 with 7000 mi, and it has 70,000 mi. on it now. It gets ridden all year.

I'd have to pay someone to shine up all that chrome. At least the Vinny was all black.

Ta Doug!....

Do you know what....I put a couple of brand-new AA batteries in my nice Pentax 3.5 MP digital camera before I started out, and when I tried to fire it up to take the shots, the batteries were as dead as a Do-Do!
I had to take the shots with my tiny Mobile Phone instead!
My Lad reckons they were probably low grade (cheap) batteries with not enough power to supply the display, and motorised zoom lens at the same time!
Tip: I need to buy quality (Duracell) batteries next time!

...plus.... I'm not very good at taking good photographs!... :D ...!

Paul.... ...!

Thursdays ride to the village of Ameley in Herefordshire, in glorious warm sunshine!

Route: Hereford, Credenhill, Kinnersley, Eardsley, Ameley, Bredwardine, Madley, Belmont, Sainsbury's, and back home for Tea!

The pond where we used to go on our Motorbikes, fishing, in the 1940's-1950's

A disused railway line on the other side of the road.

And my little beauty which took me on this enjoyable trip!

A fantastic trip on my little baby Yamaha...and she never missed a beat...bless her!

If its nice again tomorrow I may be off again!

Wowzy-flippin'-wowzers!...!

Its a cool, slightly misty September morning, for my customary Bike trip to Sainsbury's Superstore to stock up with some more goodies to eat and drink over the Weekend....

...and do you know what?.... :o .....

My little 2-stroke Motorcycle flew along, with its engine running with maximum efficiency due to the moist, cool air!

The difference was immediately noticeable...Big grin!!

I wonder if "Motorists" immediately notice the difference in atmospheric conditions like we Motorcyclists (and piston-prop aircraft Pilots) do?.... ;) ...!

Paul...with a Super-charged Yamaha 2-stroke on a September Saturday!.... ...!
