I have the Harley and the CBR 1000 RR and enjoy them both but because of my age I prefer the Harley as I can sit upright on it and not be leaning over with all of my weight forward on my arms. My wife likes the Harley and hates the CBR as she can't go in it with me. Both bikes have their perks and disadvantages. The Police here hate them both but won't chase the CBR as they know they can't catch that one.

Hello Tug.... :D ...!

I've still got my beautiful, immaculate, 1995 Honda CB 500RR water-cooled, 180 degree crank/firing order, vertical twin; my 1983/1993 Yamaha RX-S 100 2-stroke; and my 1975 Yamaha FS1M 2-Stroke single; as well as my 1996/1998 Honda CMX 250C twin Cruiser!
My Honda CB500RR fell over on me while stationary at a road junction a few years ago, which finally reminded me, (and my worried Children), that she was getting a bit too big and heavy for 'lil old me!....So she has been stored indoors ever since!
My Yamaha RX-S 100 is waiting for her Vehicle Tax and Insurance being updated, in preparation for some nice weather to come!
My poor Yamaha FS1M is still in bits, sulking, being rebuilt....very slowly!

A Harley Davidson Street Glide Ultra would be very nice, but the Captain Sensible inside me says. "Stick to your Honda Rebel Fozz, its about all you can manage at your advances age, safely, nowadays!".... ....!

As you can see in my videos, access to my house and garden to and from the road, is more than me, and an enormous Harley Street Glide, could manage, daily!... :o ....!

...and Harleys are far to expensive, anyway. The far Eastern equivalent Cruisers; Honda Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, etc, are much cheaper, and may be more reliable to run and maintain!....ooopppsss!.... ...!

If I could back-track a few years? a nice Honda Shadow 750cc, 50 degree, water-cooled, Vee-twin Cruiser, would have suited me quite nicely!

...too late now!..... ...!

Its always "yesterday"!.... .... ....!

Cheers all!

Paul....Weather getting gradually warmer each day... ....!

Thinking back into the distant past, I think my favourite British Bike was my 1958 BSA Super Rocket....

..often attached to a Watsonian Sidecar, for the rest of the family!

As a solo machine it was unbeatable in looks and performance!

A real Café Racer!.... ....!

My most troublesome Bike was my 1948 Vincent HRD 998cc Rapide Vee-Twin!.... ....!

Hey there Fozzer. Thought that you might like this picture of my father on his first bike. He had just gotten out of the Navy and had little money to spend as you can see by the picture. I don't know how to put a picture up on here so I put a link to dropbox. Hoping that it works.

Wonderful stuff, Tug!

I've saved the photo!

https://www.simviation.com/phpupload/upl ... 043353.jpg

(The other Bike in the photo group looks like your present Harley; Fat Boy/Bad Boy.).

Your Dad looks just like me when I was 19 years old (1950's)!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ariel_Motorcycles.

1930's Ariel Red Hunter, twin-port, single cylinder engine, 350cc (with the LH exhaust pipe missing!).

I've got loads of family photos dating back to the start of the 20th century!

Nice to look back on!

Hey there Fozzer, glad that you enjoyed the picture. Not sure of the date taken only that it was taken by my mother while they were dating. Yes that is my Fat Boy S in the other pictures and my sons cars in the background. When he rides my bike I drive the Mustang GT/CS. Best of both worlds for me.

Hello Chums...!

Latest upload!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CaRwI-Vglk

Each time I look out from my front door I wonder if the weather is warm enough to go for a nice ride.

It needs to be warm and cosy for me!

On this occasion it wasn't, resulting in a change of mind and just a short trip to the shops instead!

The weather is gradually getting warmer, but its still too early in the year in England.... :( ...!

The return trip will be uploaded next...So watch out for more exciting trips to the shops...and back again...

..the excitement never ceases!.... ... ...!

Ze French Canajun translation for Potato is actually Patate, not like the real French, I'll admit, but much closer to a Harley sound. Patat patat. don't you agree?

Something like this Log...>>>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eu834OG9C3I

For me, the true Harley sound is only produced by the original Knucklehead, Flathead, Panhead, and Shovelhead motors.... ...!

The sound of a close-angle, 45 degree, push-rod, air-cooled, carburettored, kick-start, Vee-Twin engine, with forked con-rods running on a single crank-pin!....

...and all of them with loud, after-market exhaust systems!

Nothing else quite like it!...

Even at its very slowest tick-over my Honda twin will never sound the same!... ;) ...!

There's nothing quite like a very big pair of; "Jugs"!.... ....!

Paul.... :D ...!

Some Panheads and some nice music to go along with them!...>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eDu7YnQKC8

The sort of bikes and music that make you want to RIDE!.... ...!

It looks like Harley are starting to favour Water-Cooled engines now, with a radiator in front!

...but then, "classic Harleys" are always Air-Cooled to me!

Hello Chums!

It looked like a nice, 54*F, Sunny day today, for a change, so I thought I would go for a slightly longer trip, until the dark clouds in the far distance made me change my mind!
No fun getting wet in any rain!
Still, the whole journey was very enjoyable!.....>>>>

Hey there Fozzer, thanks for the ride. The drain cover reminds me of the street car tracks in Toronto. Always having to find a safe way to cross them. Not going to be so nice for me today with 20-30cm of snow on the way. It is just starting now so I don't see a ride for me to soon in the near future  Looks like snow blower time again

The following link to a picture I took this morning shows why I am not out on my bike. Didn't get the 20cm of snow though, just a light dusting

I notice there's no snow on the pick-up across the road there Foz. Here's how they clear snow off their trucks around here.
