Many thanks for the reply, Sean!

The Sena system is often used for Inter-Bike communication during motorcycle trips together, using Bluetooth connection!....>>>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsNo4spsNkQ

I think most of the Chaps just use the "Senna" device fixed to the helmet, for inter-communication, with a microphone and earphones, and the Video recording uses their Go Pro Cameras.
Both Video and Audio are recorded and stored on each device.
The Video and Audio conversations are then mixed together during the final editing process.

..alternatively...>>> http://www.sena.com/product/bluetoothaudiopack/

My problem is....

Satellite communication using "4G" stuff, Bluetooth stuff, etc, on Mobile phones, GPS Maps, etc, is a magical work of art for me!

I only have a Land-line telephone, communicating via copper wire, and basic Broadband, copper wire for Internet use!

Out on the road I only have a basic (£25), Pay-as-you-go Mobile Phone, for emergency breakdown.

"i-phones" and "4G" etc, expensive contracts are sometime in the distant future... ...!

So...what have I got?....

A (£45) SJ Cam 4000 Video Camera.
Does the same job as a Go-Pro camera, but a fraction of the price!...>>> http://www.sjcam.com/en/cameras/27-sjca ... t-dvr.html

The only difficulty is, it only has a built-in microphone, (The Go Pro has an expensive add-on, for audio recording via a Microphone).

My options are.....
(a) Wire a separate Microphone to the circuit board inside the camera to replace the existing one, to record both video and audio.
(b) Purchase a separate audio recorder....>>> https://www.zoom-na.com/products/field- ... y-recorder or similar and mix the two recordings together during editing!

I think I'll try (a) first of all!

At the moment I am just inserting "text" into the videos during the editing process.
Not quite as good as instant recording on the fly whilst riding!

The Sena System is very versatile, but can be quite expensive!

More experiments to do!

I've thought about using an audio-only recorder, mostly because it can be tucked out of the wind, and still get nice ambient audio that can be edited in later...99% of motorcycling video soundtracks I find on YouTube consist of nothing but wind blast; it's fekkin' awful.
The Zoom recorders are pretty neat. The H1 has built-in XY elements for stereo recording, or you can plug a mic into it. But they make multi-track units, up to the H6, which has the built-in mics which can be used at the same time as two or more external mics! You could have a glorious multichannel mix of tappets, exhaust, intakes, and suspension squeaks!
Still don't have one, though... or a helmet cam... I keep having to spend all my money on silly things like rent and food, not to mention essentials like beer and motorcycle tires.

You can get a "noise cancelling" mic if there's a place to plug it in. Noise cancelling is old technology, so you won't have a problem finding one. Here's a good one

Ta Log, on the tips for a suitable Mic.... :D ...!

...and Sean for the latest news!

By the way, Sean, as you are a keen tourer on your bike, I found this little snippet during my explorations of You Tube Motorcycle rides in the USA.

You will find it interesting, because Matt Allen, the author, rides a similar bike to your Honda CX500/650 horizontally opposed, 90 degree vee-twin, in his case his Moto Guzzy horizontally opposed, 90 degree vee twin!
You will enjoy the similar sound!

Route 66 in 14 episodes!!...>>> http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... nXUH1I9atO

Starting in Denver Colorado through Omaha to Chicago, then following Route 66 all the way to Santa Monica, (Los Angeles), then back home again to Denver, through Death Valley, on Day 14.

A wonderful trip, showing lots of familiar "tourist" places along the way!

A gem of a Video...and what makes it even more interesting, he appears to be an English bloke, living in Denver CO, and narrating the whole video in typical English language...Cor Blimey!... :D ....!

Well worth watching, for anyone interested in the Historic Route 66; "Mother Road" and its wonderful scenery, en-route!

I found it fascinating!

Latest "stuff" for the bike... :D ...!

I've already got a pair of large, chrome-studded, throw-over Saddle-Bags for the bike, but they really are quite big for local trips when not much luggage is required, so I have purchased a pair of these canvas, Army, shoulder bags, throw-over, to wrap around the rear Pillion seat...>>>

http://www.forestarmysurplus.co.uk/prod ... ulder-bag/

OK for over-night trips.....(Pyjamas and toothbrush + toothpaste!)

Also!...

...another snazzy little toy to accompany my SJ Cam 4000 video camera, to voice-record my various trips!....>>>>

http://www.amazon.co.uk/HccToo-Multifun ... e_573372_2

Not bad for £14, with long-life, rechargeable battery; complete with Mic and Earphones, to go inside my helmet!

I can add the sound recording to my video recording in the; "Movie-maker" editing stage.... :D ...!

It can even play music whilst on the go!...(Get your/my kicks on Route 66!).... ...!

Its forecasting a "reasonable" day tomorrow (Sunday), so I may take a trip to Abergavenny 'Bus Park (Wales) tomorrow morning, and park my "new" Honda CMX Rebel Cruiser amongst the usual gaggle of hard-core Harley Davidsons there!

If I survive the beating, and the hospital bill is not excessive, I will post the video results when I return back home.... ...!

Have a nice day out to Abergavenny, you haven't been there in a while, so just remember that for the Harley riders there, absence makes the fart go Honda! Hahaha, it'll go well with your Finnish Gas Mask Bag hahaha rofl.

Never fear Dave!.... ;) ....

Last Sundays trip with Daisy, from Hereford to Abergavenny (24 miles) to meet up with all the bikers.

A 45 minute video of the return journey back home...so crack out a beer!...>>>

(I had noticed, too late, that I had recorded it at 720 in stead of 1080 resolution....more care needed next time!... ...)

Lots more videos of the Honda Rebel and the Yamaha RX-S 100

Paul.....Weather slowly getting warmer and drier!.... ...!

P.S...I've finally given up on the bikers friendly wave to; "BMW Boxer" riders!. They ignore us like we are carrying some sort of infectious disease!.... ...!

Many thanks for the replies, Chums!... :D ....!

Log...
....glad you like my new (zero miles) MPH speedometer nestling in the chrome and polished aluminium instrument cluster right in front of me all the time!
Much more sensible that the usual speedometer, etc, array fitted to the top of the tank, (like the Harleys, etc,), where you have to take your eyes off the road ahead, and look down, with dire consequences!
(The Harley 48 and 72 have a more sensible arrangement, sitting in between the handlebars!).... ;) ...!
When the needle is at 12-O-clock she is hurrying along at a speed of 45 MPH!
Comfortable speeds range form 40 to 50 MPH with the occasional, exciting burst to 65 MPH!
Speeds of 80 MPH sound like the engine is going to explode...(but it never does!)... ....!
(Cruisers were never designed to go FAST!).... :o ....!

Tug....
...glad you liked the "music"!.... ....!
I've decided to remove the sound of the engine, transmission whine, and wind noise, and replace it with comforting mood music instead!
If a narrow angle, 45 degree, single crankpin, Knucklehead or Flathead vee-twin engine was located between my knees I would be more than delighted to include the glorious engine sound.
My 360 degree (BOTH pistons up and down together!) vertical twin engine doesn't sound quite the same!
...and the associated wind and transmission whine noise can be infuriating!
So its music from now on!
(A couple of my Rebel videos I have included the pre-recorder sound of a Harley Davidson...but its easy to hear that its a fake!.... :( ...).

Camera attachments:
Attached to the Bike....too much camera shake...(British road surfaces)!
Attached to the Helmet....too much spinning around!
Attached to a Chest Harness...the best to view the speedo and the road ahead!

Sound recording:
I've yet to try out my new Digital Sound Recorder...and I need a good quality microphone to go with it.
...'trubble is...I'm not very good at talking on the fly...(unlike my American biker Cousins!).... ....!

I've got loads of videos to show. Problem is I can only upload and store one video at a time on "Dropbox", and I have to take care not to delete them for a while, (to replace them with a different video) resulting in a broken link!
(Uploading to You-Tube is a bit complicated for me, at the moment).... :? ....!

So, there you go Chums...
..thanks for all the replies!

Lots more stuff to come!

Paul.....still waiting for warm/hot, dry weather to arrive... ...!

Same across here, with the weather!

Strong south-westerly wind with showers.

No fun on a bike!

Looks like its going to be the same tomorrow (Sunday), and I've got to ride from Hereford to the Forest Of Dean in Gloucestershire to celebrate the birth of yet another one of my zillions of Great-Grandchildren, a little boy this time, as a change from all the many girls!
I suspect its going to me a cool, wet, blustery journey!

BMW's...On of my Sons owned a BMW 1200RS (amongst his many other Jap bikes) for a while....(He's into cycle and motorcycle off-roading now).
...That was a Boxer (engine), and I don't think he bothered to wave to other motorcyclists... ... ....!

I'm still struggling to get used to the strange riding position on my "Cruiser".
Its a bit of a headache in slow moving, town, stop-start traffic...feet wandering/walking all over the place!

My Yamaha RX-S with its "normal" riding position is much more practical for coping with that sort of traffic.

Paul....a day in today watching You-Tube motorcycle touring in the South West USA...where its warmer and drier!... ...!

I don't blame you strong gusting side winds is the only time I feel unsafe on a bike, I don,t mind constant wind but gusting wind is a different story better to be safe than sorry and the clocks go forward tonight as well Happy Easter Dave.
