BAR honda wouldn't have let him go, and Williams would have to then buy out the contract of their test driver while paying Heidfelds racing contract despite testing. I have a feeling aswell the ban would have covered drivers aswell as teams.

If BAR are found to have deliberately contravened the sports regulations, they may have had little comeback if JB wanted out of jis contract, and it's doubtful the ban would cover the drivers too...

Depends on how much Button had to do with it. Drivers have so much input on the setup of their cars these days, its impossible to plead ignorance. while the main aspect of driving is reduced to turning the wheel and pressing on one of two pedals(three if your a mclaren driver) they still have final say on how their car is setup.

While i agree. 5kg is for an F1 car alot i guess. Had BAR won at Imola and not been completely outclassed by the Ferrari and renault, i am certain the punishment would have been a season ban.
