As a comitted fan of F1, I don't see Bernie as the villan here,  I see two reasons for this happening.

1, the teams for simply letting him take complete control of the sport in the first place!

2, the BRDC for squandering funds on a swanky clubhouse whilst the rest of Silverstone was left in the dark ages in comparison to circuits around the globe.

Remember the F1 parade in London back in the summer? An absolutely massive sucess no question.

The reason for Silverstones demise is the above event, the BRDC by falling short of the required fee's have simply given Bernie all the excuses he needed to get the London GP off the starting line. I blame the BRDC not Bernie Ecclestone! - And I'm no fan of Bernies let me make that clear!
He's a business man, a London GP is better business than Silverstone. I find it a great shame, Silverstone is an institution , part of British society imho, I'm gutted to see it go from the F1 calendar.

Would have all been simpler if a district council in Kent had let the owners of Brands Hatch redevelop it in the mid '90s when they won the rights only to be denied planning permission - imagine the revenue for London then with a circuit 5 miles outside the M25...

F1 in europe will be dead anyway... tobacco ads will be banned in the whole EU soon.

If they want street racing... why not Moscow.
They told the F1 management that they would do it if asked, but no one was interested at that time.

Since Schumi has arisen to the god of F1 (only two more world records to break. And that should be very easy for him...), I don't care for F1 anymore.

FIA GT is muuuuuuch better....
