I'm really getting annoyed over this constant aim to turn the pinacle of motorsports into another version of the A1GP series.
And this whole "road relevant" crap is getting old. The day we see F1 cars on the road is the day that becomes a valid thing. Yes F1 teams use the races to sell there cars, but they do it by being successful, by being the most publicised name. You do well, people want to buy your cars. Not by being "eco friendly" people wont go out and by a Ferrari because they have some stupid KERS system in it. They wont buy a Mercedes because its suddenly saving the panda's.
The standard ECU was a pointless exercise which is going to cost teams more over the next 5 years in figuring it out every time some new part is added, than it would have to let teams have their own. Using the argument about traction control is pointless, the FIA can monitor it if it really wanted to.
Leave these guys to spend all the money they want, if you cant afford to be in F1 then go elsewhere. Ferrari, Honda, Toyota, BMW, Mercedes, Red bull and Force India, all have billion dollar backing, would it be a shame if Williams and STR were to dissapear? Yes but then again many big teams have gone and we've gotten over it. Someone else will always be waiting to come in and take their place.

But the problem is eventually the big money investors will dry up. Who's to know VJ won't be another Midland, or Toyota or Honda just decide that it isn't for them. Do we really want 16 car races?

I think it'd be nice to continue to let F1 go back towards its roots. Customer chassis? Fine. Engines? Fine. Participation is the key to keeping it interesting.

Just Adolf spouting off again. It wont happen and if it does, then it wont because we will end up with a break away F1 series. They are already driving GTI go-carts. How much more standardisation can we have.

Max strikes again huh? I was reading this over at autosport, im sure hes got a vendetta to ruin F1 before he clears off. If he ever does.

At this rate F1 will be a series full of teams with funny names, and drivers youve never heard of -  long gone are mercedes, ferrari, renault and so on....gah >:(

actually, stock cars have different engine builders, so probably not.  Max needs to go back to his hobby of...well I better not say

To me it's a moot point when they all have the horespower. Remember what they did to Toyota this year. ;) They'll probably be checking torque next. Ooops, I probably said too much. Somebody from NASCAR may read this. ;D
