Any idea as to who the gent is who was driving the car? Is he a factory rep or something? He looks like just your average Joe. Reminds me of when Chrysler had just brought out their new Daytona and Charger models back in November of 1984. They used orange cones to set up a slalom course in the parking lot of the Food Lion grocery store in Blacksburg, VA. The challenge was to negotiate the course in as short a time as possible without hitting the cones (or as few as possible), the winner to be entered into a nationwide raffle for a trip to the 1985 Daytona race. I waited my turn, got in and set about to go around the course. I hit two cones almost right away, which blew me out of the running, so I gunned it and spun the tires, causing the car to slide, et cetera. The ignition was wired to a remote control as is used for RC airplanes, and they cut off the juice to the ignition instantly. I was stopped in a fraction of a second. The car was not damaged.
I got a DQ on my timeslip...
