Seeing Yellow

A driver was stunned to get a parking ticket after yellow lines were painted underneath his car.
Nasser Khan had left his vehicle where there was a gap in the lines - but workmen filled it and then a traffic warden issued the ticket.
The incident in Chapel Street, Salford, was captured on camera by an office worker based nearby.
Motorists had been taking advantage of the unmarked short stretch after recent roadworks.
A vehicle parked overnight had initially prevented workmen painting the line.
Caught on phone camera
Mr Khan, 28, a marketing consultant, said: "I thought I was lucky to get the space but I didn't think I would get a ticket because it was a legitimate parking area.
"I couldn't believe they painted the line underneath my vehicle."
He said the machinery used to mark the line had melted the tyres of his Toyota MR2, forcing him to spend
"A bit of a pickle" - British translation: A catastrophically bad situation with potentially fatal consequences.

I saw this in the paper this morning, with photos. Ridiculous.

I would sue the council for the price of the ruined set of tyres + the inconvenience.
