first american points in F1

Well after a pretty good aussie GP Scott speed becomes the first american in 13 years to score a point in F1. The last being Michael Andretti in a Mclaren. Interesting tactic from Honda though chosing to retire Button rather than cross the line. Saves the engine penalty but costs them 3 points.

Show's how confident they are. If a new engine gives them a decent result in the next race then that may be a shrewd decision...

Apparently Coulthards been complaining as usual and now he gets the point because speed passed him under a yellow flag. To be fair though a bunch of drivers should be investigated as waved safety car yellows were going as a bunch of drivers were passing for a good 4 or 5 turns.

There was a big cluster of cars jockeying for position when the safety car came out.

Whinging Scotsman! Shouldn't have been so good testing the STR1 last year then should he! ;D

It was great to see the Liuzzi - MSC - Speed sandwich. Shame Liuzzi found his way to the wall...

they are probably hoping that he can qualify well in the next gp. . .he probably had something wrong with his car that was causing him to go so far back.

If they take Speeds point they should drop Ralf for passing under the safety car period too.

yes his inability to heat the tyres. Been a  problem for both Honda and Toyota.
3 points is alot of money in F1, so for this gamble to pay off a podium is a must I am guessing.

There was a time when F1 didn't have a safety car and the drivers just slowed down for well shown yellow flags - then you didn't have 3-4 laps of non racing, and the  drivers used common sense...

They introduced it just before Senna died...
