Pretty much the same story as elwellnick here, when I bought car it had a horrible wooden steering wheel, so I changed it for this one - it wasn't very expensive & the flat bottom did have a purpose because I used to have the wheel down as low as it would go in this car.

Not fancy, but I thought it suited the car.

I'm curious as to how much the flat bottom effects steering round sharper corners? i have the nasty habit of steering like its got a full lock of a racing car so i am then rushed into grabbing the wheel round sharper corners. Would the flat bottom make that tougher?

The flat bottom only seemed to make a difference for about the 1st hour of using it - you'd turn a corner & grab yourself a great big chunk of thin air!!

Once i'd got used to it, it just seemed perfectly normal & never caused me any problems - if you got a flat bottomed wheel you would very quickly get used to it - it also helps out if leg room (between wheel & knee/leg) is bit close. Like I said, I used to have the wheel set very low down.

Cheers,

I'd like a flat botton wheel so I could fit my knees in more easily... :)
