Whoa, whats the deal with Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes, and Renault jumping off the F-1 train in '08?
I read at F-1 live that it isnt just a threat to bernie ecclstone, but that they are actually trying to go away from F-1.

IMO F-1 is dead.
- Tobacco commercial ban in Rurope, so less advcertising
- Boring to watch, as there are only 3 teams that have a chance of winning.
- Not enough spectacular crashes (isn't that one of the major reasons people like to watch NASCAR? 40 cars on a small track).

And the heroism of the drivers is gone. Weren't Stewart, Lauda & co real heroes during their career?

It all depends, remember aswell the fans of the sport today are much more informed. We are spoilt by the wealth of knowledge and insight into the sport that just didnt exsist 20 years back and before. It takes away alot of the mistque of the whole experiance.
As to this new series, its just a threat right now to get more money, surprise surprise. Now that little toad Bernie has lost some control theres every chance these greedy teams will get what they want.
