Barrett-Jackson car auction...

Postby Wing Nut » Sun Aug 31, 2003 10:14 am

I've been following these guy's auctions for years now and they always have some incredible cars for sale.  I particularly love the $432,000 Ferrari.  I was surpirised to see a Shelby Cobra go for under $100,000...

The price of the British cars is a bit steep, the Austin-Healey 3000 and the Cooper S were rather pricey, along with the Rolls Royces and the TR6.
The Ferrari 308 and the Vipers seemed v.reasonable to me however ;D
Cool site Kevin, thanks for the link, interesting :o

can't say that i am surprised richie ::) ::) not a horrible price either

the auction prices where all over the place. . .most of the american cars where pretty reasonably priced. . .some of the 50s/60s vettes where really good. And the Hennessy vipers!!! thoose are amazingly well priced. . .if i had the money i would seriously consider

the 400 ferrari was a nice item. . .but the 360 was a total rip (even with the body and rims)

love the ford roadsters

the FORD MUSTANG SCCA RACE CAR FASTBACK is a awsome price would deffinatly buy if had the money to spare!!

the shelby GT's are pretty good too, and the series one is awsome price by about 35 G

the beetle at the end is to expensive can get the same model but new for 6 G less!
Sincerely,
Me

It's not a bad price at all, usually those COPO Camaro's go for $100,000 or more.

Yeah, I don't really think that's a COPO Camaro.  I thought the COPO was a plain Jane, with basic hubcaps instead of rims and just a straight paint job with no stripes or anything.  The idea was that it be stripped down because everyone would want to make their own race cars, making it the perfect sleeper.

It looks like a COPO to me that someone has put that stripe on.  They didn't come with wheels like that or hubcaps-they had just real plain wheels on them.  The only give away was the cowl induction hood like this one has, it has the chevy boe-tie and cowl induction hood which only came together on the COPO.  So, it does look like a COPO to me-but someone just put some stripes on the side.  Then again-it could be a clone.   ;)
