757 Captain. A tad bit of help would be nice.

Hi, I love aircraft made by captain sim. The only products I don't have are the 707, B-52, and C-130. Captain Sim make outstanding planes, and their 757 is one of my favorite. But there's a slight problem. I'm kind of a newbie ::) Don't be too harsh on me when I ask these questions, but when I set all the autopilot settings correctly, the auto-throttle seems to be the one that is "the odd one out." Now I'm not sure if it's a bug, or if I'm just a complete dumby, but I normally set my cruise speed around 320-330 KIAS. I rotate, usually at around 152-157 KIAS, and once the gears up, and I've passed the runway, I arm autopilot. I hit heading select, A/T, speed hold, V/S, and CMD 1. Everything works fine except the Auto-throttle! I'll be at a V/S of about 2000 feet per minute, and the speed will be all lonesome down at around 230 KIAS. But here's the thing, I'll even settle down to 1400 fpm, and the throttle will show that it's all the way forward, but I'll still be going at a speed of around 230 KIAS, and then I eventually hit the wind and stall ;D Is this a bug or am I just doing something wrong? Help would be great ;)

You might not be able to enter into SPD if the aircraft is still in TO/GA thrust mode.

Try not to laugh too hard but, the reason it wasn't increasing was because I forgot to raise the flaps all the way  ::)

i was just about to suggest, "check your flaps".  Every now and then, I still have 1-2 notches of flaps around 10-15 nm out of the airport and the craft keeps stalling and crashing.  then i realize what i am doing wrong...

Altitude Hold = (desired height)
Speed = 250 BELOW 10,000 MSL  // 300-380 ABOVE 10,000
Heading set to that of runway
Autothrottle = ENGAGE

as I pass over the far end threshold at about 50-100 feet AGL .. Gear up/Flaps up.

(starts singing Airforce song.... "Off we go, into the wild blue yonder. Climbing high, into the sky..")
