Flying Stations would like to announce the start of an ongoing series of new EE Canberra models for FS9 (with good FSX compatibility).

Ahh, the eternal FSX native situation.  I'll have to see about a conversion to X down the line, this one flies fairly well in X, but I understand the want of a native version.

In this case it's not just a case of converting to FSX syntax in the model, it's the models themselves.  As you may well know, FS9 is saddled with a poly limit when exporting models, and so when I started the project I had to go lower poly than perhaps I would have done with X.  Later on I learned of the method to get around that, but even then, it's still not 100% foolproof and there are still issues. 

So...if I end up doing an X version, it should, in fairness to the buyer, be a whole new, higher-poly build.  When you look at the standard of current X payware model VCs, you see an extreme level (in most cases!) of quality.  I'm proud of the quality I put into my FS9 Canberras, but it's got to be more for a native X build.  As I said though, even this FS9 release flies and looks pretty good in X off the bat - give it a try with the B.2 release before the freeware trial ends.

Reference the Buccaneer and Sea Fury.
The Bucc will probably be ready sometime in the next three months depending on how many problems I meet getting various features to work. E.g. the radar currently displays shipping targets but I haven't got land to display yet, or enabled a lock on feature to feed through to the Pilot's Attack Sight (an early form of HUD). And last night I spent about three hours writing some C code to sequence the fuel flow correctly as the standard FSX functions weren't up to it.  So it'll probably be a few more weeks before I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and get a more accurate release date.
The Sea Fury will ironically probably be available sooner despite only really starting on it a few months back!  Basically she just needs some final external mapping done and a VC built, the lack of complex systems to model or second cockpit make it, relatively speaking, an easier aircraft to do.  Mind you we haven't got a flight model yet...

This pack forms the fourth in the series, following on from the B.1, B.2 and Bomber Power packs recently released, and covers the T.4, T.11/19. T.17 and much-loved TT.18.
