Hi,
I am getting the first experiences with this addon.
With the aircraft of it I am not happy and I want to land/start there with my F-16 Aerosoft or the CS Hercules.
But these aircrafts are not the problem.
1. How do I find the USS Gerald in free flight?
I have noticed the coordinates in a mission (English Channel), but I could not find the carrier in free flight.
I found a nice freeware on simviation, aicarriers2. I can place the AI-carriers of the FSX, but not the USS Gerald of Flight Deck 5. I need active cables and catapults.
A 'cable programme' I found here did not work in my FSX.
2. Which other options do I have or what I have to make?

I have been playing with the Abacus Flight Deck add-ons since its inception. I've had FD 5 for quite sometime now and I'm not too enthused with the quality of the software. As far as I know you have to go to Missions to use FD5. I believe there are add-ons for FD5 but you have to get them from Abacus. You can only use one flattop (USS Gerald Ford). Several weired things happen during the game. For instance, only the F18s come to a stop during a "nice trap" landing. All the other aircraft overshoot although I'm getting a "Nice trap" from the LSO. Also I was landing once and there was an aircraft parked right in the middle of the flight deck. Another weird thing was that when doing my approach, another jet went by ahead of me and I had to "wave off". Been contacting Abacus support regarding the problem but no joy. FD6 is out now but I have questions regarding the quality of this add-on. But I enjoy landing on a carrier even at night.

I bought FD6. I took it off my computer probably faster than I put it on. Pure crap. The planes they provide are junk, the carriers are junk, as well as the helicopters. I have asked for tech support without any replies.

I have put together a "Carrier Ops" file that I never uploaded to a server... But is it the FS9 Carrier Ops 2006. I have it installed in my FSX and it does work. I have all files and 1 aircraft (F14-D) with the program.
If you want the files, pm me your email address and I will try to get it to you as soon as I can.
Keep in mind, the F14 is for FS9 and does NOT have FSX gauges in it, and the Carriers are for FS9 also but they do show up and are landable with ARRCAB2.6 (arrestor cables 2.6 program) running in the background.

Here's a scenery package that has a static carrier that you can start out on.It's the USNVT Package.
http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?t ... 63&page=52You still need ArrCab for the cats to work
