$107 on a Radeon HD 4850 512mb, which I'm extreme happy with because it can still run the newest games; $80 on a OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W PSU; and a joystick.

I just had a look at my payware folder, 21 payware things! And then my joystick, and a new graphics card and PSU.
That might well become 22 if I get the Accusim B-17 too.

When I brought FSX home my PC could just barely handle it. When I brought accceleration home, denial, anger, sorrow, followed. I began looking for geeks to choke info out of. I was in a pathetic state of mind.. Until, out of the gloom of night.. Simvation appeared before me. I studied every post, and learned, more each day.
All told, I would guess near 3,000 dollars.

Yeah the amount I spent is classified for marital reasons. It's up there along the lines of used motor scooter, but that's as much as I will release.

People will spend a couple of thousand extra on the "limited" edition of a car, or draperies for their windows, or a f*n peice of jewelry like its nothing at all. Or they will spend a couple of thousand on a "dream" vacation that lasts all of 2 weeks, only to find that when they get back home it feels like they never left.
I was thinking about this just today and it occurred to me that my computer and all the addons have been worth every last penny. No hobby in the world has provided me with so many countless hours of entertainment nor kept my mind as sharp.

The only Payware Software I have purchased over the past 12+ years of M$ Flight Simming:
FS Navigator.
Lago FSSE + FSE Scenery Enhancer.
Abacus EZ Scenery Designer.
Ground Environment Pro.
REX. Real Environment
That's mostly all I need for day-to-day Flight Simming in FS '98. FS2000. FS2002, FS2004.
