That's easy.

PMDG MD-11 (I'm surprised you're not familiar with this one)

And the Flight1/Coolsky MD-80 "Super 80 Pro"

Thanks Sean!

I mainly fly military jets, Aerosoft's F16, Accel F/A-18A and Cap Sim's F/A-18D so I have not paid much attention to decent passenger jets.  I got a new PC and last night loaded my old freeware MD11's and MD80's with their 2D cockpits and got to thinking that it would be nice to have these with 3D cockpits.

Man, each of these two cost more that I paid for the Aerosoft F16.  Do you really think that the MD11 is worth the $80 US that PDMG is charging and do you think that the MD80 is really worth the $55 US that Flight1 is charging?

I can't speak in terms of experience with this MD-11 addon, but I would only advise getting it if you KNOW you will get a lot of use out of it, and are a big fan of that aircraft type. This decision is based purely on a price-perspective.
PMDG makes very high quality addons, so there is no risk that you would be getting "ripped off" quality-wise.

Regarding the Flight1 product, I used to use the old FS2004 iteration of the Super 80 (original non-"pro" from a couple years ago). I got plenty of use out of it, and it is capable of going into many airports, and is enjoyable on short and medium length routes. This, combined with what appears to be a very wide array of repaints reflecting this popular aircraft around the globe would lead me to consider this one before the MD-11.

Both aircraft have intensive, accurate systems simulations.

I agree that both addons have some of the highest prices that you can find in today's FS market, but I'm afraid that until the vocal groups stating "I would pay anything for your products" dies down, we will continue to see an increase in price as new products emerge. Both products are high quality, so you shouldn't have to worry about buying an buggy, poorly produced addon. As they say, quality comes with a price. In some cases, you may be "paying for the brand name", but that's life....

MD-11 yes, but only if you are willing to learn to fly it properly. ;)

I also forgot to mention that you may want to consider the fact that in the future, BestBuy may be selling the PMDG addon for upwards of $40 or more cheaper than you can get through PMDG Online or places like Simmarket if PMDG moves to publish the MD-11 boxed through Aerosoft.

It happened and is well documented on other forums that people are/were picking up the FSX Queen of the Skies for between US$30-40.....

EDIT: if the link works, here's proof.

Compared to this, which I think reflects the download version, meaning the box version is still in the 60-70 dollar range:

The above two links are for the exact same addons, with the exact same features.

Agreed.

Both are very good.
