Has anyone bought the AlphaSim B1-B Lancer? If so, could you give me your impressions of  the flight model as well as the  sound track quality. Tnx, Skip

Flight model is ok, standard AS where it takes nearly full throttle just to break away from a stopped taxiing position though, that's sort of a common theme with some of their military jet models and is a bit of a downer.  3D model looks pretty good and the VC is decent in that you can fly accurately just using it.  It's nothing special but that also gives better performace.  Standard animations, plus a co-pilot in the right seat who is animated.  All in all, I'd say it's worth the price.  The afterburners have an upgrade available that is a nice addition.  I don't remember about the included soundset though, seems ok.

There is a new B-1B in development. I don't know who is making it, but a model is underway at Milviz (I think). :)

Thanks for the reply's. I did go out to the MilVil website and looked at their products, very impressive, but I do not think they are going to be available for FSX. At least from what I read, that was my conclusion. I guess I will give the AlphaSim model a try.

I personally prefer their TU-160, nicer model and textures.

I had a good time with their B-1B, It's not a Captain Sim or Carenado model, but it was one of Alpha's better made models.

The 3D exterior was terrific, the VC wasn't too bad, not photoreal, but not bad at all, and she was quick!  I imagine the handling wasn't even close to realistic, but I have never flown a Bone so I wouldn't really know.

It was the only B-1B worth flying in FS9 that I knew of, I'd say go for it, if you don't feel like waiting for the new model, I didn't regret it.

Thanks Big Truck, They already have an FSX upgrade so why not. I will keep an eye out for the MilViz model, they have some very interesting models including my favorite, the B-58.  Skip
