Creating New Windows for Aircraft Question

I've got the Aerosoft Bushhawk and Beaver, and let me say they are great aircraft. I'm trying to add a window for the stock FSX Gps, one that opens up like thew normal one does with Shift+3. I've tried copying and pasting from a stock FSX aircraft in the cfg files, but all I get is either a full black screen or nothing at all. Any suggestions?

A lot of payware companies include code into their products that prevents modification.

I tried the same thing with their Twin Otter and met with the same results.

Hi
It is possible to add pop-up windows to the BeaverX, I did do a panel mod to add a 2D panel for some of the BeaverX flyers over at the Aerosoft Forum, in which the pop-ups are activated with a mouse click in both the 2D and VC views, if you look on the Aerosoft Forum in the Aircraft section and find a topic called Gps Beaver FSX you can see the first version of the mod, the latest version has pop-up for the GPS, Radio Stack and Engine gauges.
Let me know if this is the type of thing you are after, and we will sort out some way of sending the file.

That's awsome 8-), don't suppose you've done this with PMDG's stuff also? I would love to have a gps in my 737's.

Hi Shane
I take it you mean the 737-600 to 900 series, if so yes it can be done as fortunately I have the PMDG 737, although why you would want a GPS unit and a MFD is up to you, but it

That's great!

I have the -600/700/800 series and usually fly the VCCAB versions of each. I usually have no problems adding GPS to different planes, but these (FS9) and my Twotter (FSX) just didn't respond to the panel.cfg mods as normal.
The only reason I want the GPS right now, is I'm still learning the FMC and I do mess it up alot, and get lost, so it would make a nice back up system to check my progress with.

Hi Shane
Well I did not think that that was going to work, but on with the show.
It was easier to put the hidden click spots over the standby ADI, so that I could get both the 2D and VC click spots in the same location, and that was a gauge that does not have any other mouse click area near it.
If that is the result you are after, or you have got any suggestions / ideas about the mod, let me know and I will try my best to help.
As for getting the mod to you, I have no idea what the protocol is for adding files / attachments to posts (the pop up gauge controller cab file is all of 1kb and the rest is just additions to the panel.cfg files), but as you are one of the moderators, I

Hi Shane
I will have to learn to type faster, just as an aside, as I also have the Aerosoft Twin Otter, I could probably add a similar unit and controller to that aircraft, just let me know and I have a go.
And now I have posted those shots, I will have a go at adding the one for the BeaverX, as my luck with screen shots was the only reason I gave the directions to the Aerosoft Forum.

Sounds good, and not a problem. Sometimes the best advice for Payware products is to steer people to their support forums, as they are usually such specialized cases and not everyone has them. So no harm no foul there.

Hi Jason
Now if it works twice on the run, this post should have a couple of shots of the latest version of the 2D panel mod for the BeaevrX, which includes the other pop up panels.

As above just let me know if this is what you are after, or if you have any suggestion / requests, and I

Thanks for all the replies jim, I'll give this a shot later, I've been extremely busy and haven't had time to play with it anymore but what you've done looks like what I was trying to do, just couldn't figure it out. I'll hit you up later when I get a chance to play around with it. Thanks for the help!!
